President
Jeff Wong | He/Him
Greetings, my name is Jeff Wong. I am in my second year on the Clinical Mental Health Track in the Counselor Education program at The Ohio State University. I have years of experience serving many communities through outreach and volunteering, which has led to my passion for social justice and advocacy work for all. I'd like to work with folks from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people, varied ethnic groups, and persons with overlapping identities, to name a few. I am delighted to serve as the CSJ president; together with the CSJ team, we will do everything we can to serve the local communities and promote social justice and equity for all.
Vice President
Gillian Jennings | She/Her
I am Gillian Jennings, a second-year graduate student at Ohio State in Counselor Education on the School Counseling track. My work as a special education teacher in Columbus City Schools opened my eyes to the need for systems-level changes to make schools more equitable places in which all students can thrive. I am particularly passionate about creating safe, supportive school environments for LGBTQIA+ youth; facilitating access to mental healthcare for historically marginalized populations; and restorative justice practices. As vice president of CSJ, I hope to work alongside my dedicated peers to create action-oriented events and professional development opportunities which will promote social justice in our community.
Treasurer
Gary Leslie | He/Him
Hello! My name is Gary Leslie, and I am currently in my second year of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. My background in regional planning has profoundly influenced my understanding of mental health, emphasizing the need for personal care tailored to an individual's cultural context and promoting broader systemic changes. During my time as an undergrad, I co-founded the student organization named Mind's Matter at OSU to combat mental health stigma and promote education and advocacy on campus. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience over the past two years working at a center for ADHD and ASD testing, which ignited my interest in working with neurodiverse individuals. I am particularly passionate about caring for the elderly, a group often overlooked by our society. After I graduate, my goal is to specialize in elderly care. I am excited about serving as treasurer for CSJ, where I can work collaboratively and advocate for those often marginalized in our society.
Secretary
Drew LeBoeuf | She/Her
Hi, everyone! My name is Drew LeBoeuf. I am a second-year counselor education graduate student on the school counseling track. I have been in the education field for 5 years and currently work as a substitute teacher here in Columbus. Through my work in education, I have seen a greater need for mental health support and advocacy which led me to school counseling. Some of my passion areas include working with middle schoolers, restorative justice, and systemic inequities and oppression in education. I am thrilled to be a part of the CSJ team and serve our local Columbus communities this coming year!
